TODAY’S INSPIRATION: LUKE 6V27-31.

27 ¶ But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.” (KJV)

INSPIRATION NOTE:

Luke 6:27-31 offers indispensable guidance to Christians on the transformative power of reconciliation. This passage encourages believers to respond with love and compassion even in challenging situations, emphasizing the importance of forgiveness and peaceful reconciliation.

It emphasizes the radical calling of Christians to love and reconcile with others, even in the face of conflict or mistreatment. Jesus instructs his followers to extend love not only to their friends and acquaintances but also to their enemies, challenging traditional notions of justice and revenge. By choosing forgiveness and reconciliation, Christians have the opportunity to break the cycle of negativity and promote harmony.

The passage teaches Christians that responding to hostility and mistreatment with love and compassion can have a profound impact. It urges believers to go beyond societal norms by seeking reconciliation and practicing forgiveness, thereby embodying the transformative power of God’s love. Reconciliation does not mean condoning or accepting wrongdoing, but rather striving for understanding, healing, and restoration.

PRAYER:

Gracious Lord,

We humbly come before You, seeking the grace to reconcile with our enemies as taught by Your Son, Jesus Christ. In His teachings, He showed us the way of love, forgiveness, and reconciliation, even towards those who oppose us.

Help us, dear Lord, to release any bitterness, anger, or resentment that lingers within our hearts. Grant us the strength to extend a hand of forgiveness and understanding, seeing our enemies through the lens of Your unconditional love.

In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.
