THEME: “RESTORATION”

HOPE & RESTORATION SERIES

DAY 18: FRIDAY AUGUST 18. 2023.

TODAY’S INSPIRATION: 2 CORINTHIANS 1V8-10.

8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us” (KJV)

INSPIRATION NOTE:

In 2 Corinthians 1:8-10, the apostle Paul candidly shares his personal experience of facing immense challenges and trials. He describes how he and his companions were burdened beyond measure, even to the point of despairing of life itself. Paul’s words reflect the depth of his suffering and the overwhelming pressure he endured.

This passage serves as a powerful reminder that even in the midst of our darkest moments, we can find hope and restoration through our unwavering trust in God. It highlights the transformative power of relying on His strength, as He is the one who rescues us from trials and triumphantly leads us forward.

Paul’s personal testimony in 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 serves as an inspiring example of how, even in times of great hardship, our faith in God can sustain us and bring us through to the other side, ultimately restoring and uplifting our spirits.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father,

In the midst of our deepest trials and challenges, we humbly come before Your throne of grace. Just as the apostle Paul and his companions faced overwhelming burdens, we, too, find ourselves feeling weighed down and uncertain at times.

Grant us the assurance that we are not alone in our struggles. Remind us of Your unfailing love and presence, even when circumstances seem unbearable. Lift us up, O Lord, and fill us with Your divine uplifting power.

May Your deliverance shine through our lives, becoming a testimony of Your faithfulness and grace. As we place our hope in You, we know that You will bring us through every hardship, restoring us and uplifting us to new heights.

In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
