SCRIPTURE FOR THE MONTH: GENESIS 12:1–3
“Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” (KJV)
MESSAGE
Beloved, this month, the Spirit of God calls us to reflect deeply on the power of obedience. The story of Abraham in Genesis 12:1–3 reveals a timeless truth: God’s blessings are often hidden in divine instructions.
When God called Abraham to leave his country and family, He gave no map, no clear explanation — only a command and a promise. Abraham’s willingness to obey, even without full understanding, positioned him for a destiny that changed the world.
Every act of obedience moves you closer to the manifestation of God’s promise.
Many believers pray for blessings but resist the very instructions that unlock them. The Lord told Abraham to “Get thee out…” before saying “I will bless thee.” Divine blessings are conditional on human response.
In this new month, as we obey God in faith, we align ourselves with His covenant of increase, direction, and peace. Obedience is not just an act—it’s a spiritual key.
SCRIPTURE EXPOSITION
- “Get thee out of thy country…” – A call to separation and trust.
Before promotion comes separation. God will often require us to leave comfort zones to enter covenant zones.
- “…unto a land that I will shew thee.” – Divine direction follows obedience.
You may not see the full picture, but your obedience allows God to guide your steps.
- “I will make of thee a great nation…” – Obedience brings multiplication.
Greatness is not pursued; it is produced through obedience.
- “I will bless thee and make thy name great…” – Obedience attracts divine favor and recognition.
God lifts those who follow His voice.
- “…and thou shalt be a blessing.” – Obedience makes you a channel of blessing to others.
True blessings overflow; they never end with you.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF OBEDIENCE LEADING TO BLESSINGS
- Noah (Genesis 6:22): Obeyed God’s strange command to build an ark and saved his entire household from destruction.
- Abraham (Genesis 22:1–18): Obeyed God by offering Isaac and received a covenant of generational blessing.
- Isaac (Genesis 26:1–12): Obeyed God’s instruction to stay in Gerar and prospered a hundredfold in famine.
- Peter (Luke 5:4–6): Obeyed Jesus to cast the net again and caught a miraculous multitude of fish.
- The Widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:13–16): Obeyed Elijah’s instruction and experienced supernatural supply.
- Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:8–9): Obeyed unto death on the cross, and God highly exalted Him above all.
Every divine instruction carries within it the seed of divine manifestation.
LESSONS FOR BELIEVERS
- Obedience is the proof of faith. (Hebrews 11:8)
- You cannot receive the blessing until you respond to the instruction. (Deuteronomy 28:1–2)
- Partial obedience is disobedience. (1 Samuel 15:22–23)
- Obedience precedes revelation. You understand better after you obey. (John 7:17)
- Obedience sustains blessings. It’s not a one-time act but a lifestyle. (James 1:22–25)

May this month usher you into divine instructions that unlock hidden treasures.
May the Spirit of obedience rest upon you and your household.
As you walk in obedience, may God multiply your peace, provision, and favor.
Your steps will be ordered into divine opportunities, and your obedience will produce lasting testimonies.
This month, may obedience turn every challenge into a miracle — in Jesus’ name!
