“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” – Psalm 118:8 (KJV)

Dearly Beloved,

Welcome to the month of April 2025. As we step into April, we are reminded of a fundamental truth—our ultimate security lies in trusting God, not in human strength.

In a world filled with uncertainties, shifting alliances, and broken promises, Psalm 118:8 serves as a divine anchor, directing us to place our confidence in the unfailing character of God.

Psalm 118 is a psalm of thanksgiving, written by an individual who had experienced the saving power of God in times of distress. Verse 8 stands as the central verse of the Bible, reinforcing a crucial message—God is our true refuge.

  1. Trusting in God vs. Trusting in Man

Human beings are limited in wisdom, power, and consistency. Even the best-intentioned individuals may fail us.

God, however, is all-knowing (Isaiah 46:10), all-powerful (Jeremiah 32:27), and eternally faithful (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Jeremiah 17:5-7 contrasts the curse of trusting in man with the blessing of trusting in the Lord.

  1. Biblical Examples of Trusting God

David: In 1 Samuel 17, David trusted God to deliver him from Goliath rather than relying on King Saul’s armor.

Daniel: In Daniel 6, he relied on God rather than fearing the decree of the king, and God preserved him in the lions’ den.

The Three Hebrew Boys: In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to Nebuchadnezzar’s idol, trusting God even in the face of fire.

1.Do not rely solely on human support: While relationships and counsel are valuable, our faith must be rooted in God alone.

2.God never fails: His promises are sure (Numbers 23:19), and He always makes a way for those who trust Him.

3.Faith in God brings divine intervention: When we place our confidence in Him, He fights our battles (Exodus 14:14).

This month, let us commit to placing our trust in God rather than leaning on human abilities.

Whether in business, ministry, family, or personal struggles, let God be our anchor.

Heavenly Father, help us to trust You above all things. Strengthen our faith, and let our confidence be rooted in Your unfailing love. Guide us through this month and beyond. In Jesus’ name. Amen 🙏

Shalom!
