DAY 18: WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 18. 2023.

TODAY’S INSPIRATION: 1 JOHN 2V1-6.

1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.” (KJV)

INSPIRATION NOTE:

In this particular passage, the author emphasizes the conduct expected of believers and highlights the impending judgment of God. Heavenly Father,

We humbly come before Your presence, knowing that we are prone to stumble and fall in our journey of faith. But we find solace in the words of 1 John 2:1b, where it assures us that You have provided an advocate, Jesus Christ, who intercedes on our behalf. We thank You for His grace that covers our shortcomings and His forgiveness that washes away our sins.

Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, empowering us to resist temptation and to live in a manner that honors You.As we encounter challenges and struggles, remind us of the assurance we have in Jesus, our advocate.

May our lives be a testament to Your transforming power, drawing others closer to Your embrace.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
