11“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (KJV)

Dearly Beloved in Christ,
Grace, mercy, and peace be multiplied unto you from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Welcome to the month of May!
As we transition into a new phase of the year, the Spirit of the Lord impresses upon our hearts a timely reminder from Jeremiah 29:11–13: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you…”
What a comforting truth! In a season where many are plagued with anxiety, confusion, and disappointment, God calls us to live with divine assurance—knowing that His thoughts and plans concerning us are peaceful, purposeful, and full of hope.

This passage was originally spoken by God through the prophet Jeremiah to the Israelites who had been taken into captivity in Babylon. Despite their disobedience, God had not abandoned them. He assured them that their captivity was temporary and that He had not forgotten His covenant.
Verse 11 reveals the nature of God’s thoughts:

They are peaceful – not of chaos or evil.

They have an expected end – not random or hopeless.

They are His thoughts – not man’s assumptions or circumstances.

Verses 12–13 reveal our role in activating this divine plan:

Call upon Him – engage God in prayer and covenant relationship.

Seek Him – pursue Him above all else, not half-heartedly, but with our whole heart.

Find Him – assurance that He will reveal Himself and His purposes when sought sincerely.

Joseph (Genesis 37–50)
Though Joseph faced betrayal, slavery, and imprisonment, God’s thoughts toward him remained intact. Eventually, Joseph rose to become a prime minister in Egypt. At the end, he declared to his brothers, “You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good…” (Genesis 50:20).

Lesson: Even when your path seems dark, God’s purpose is unfolding.

    Daniel (Daniel 1–6)
Taken into captivity like the Israelites in Jeremiah’s time, Daniel chose to seek God with his whole heart. His faithfulness, prayers, and commitment to righteousness caused him to rise in prominence across multiple kingdoms.

Lesson: Consistent prayer and godly living position you to walk in God’s perfect plan—even in a foreign land.

    • Ruth (Book of Ruth) After loss and uncertainty, Ruth aligned herself with God through Naomi. Her faithfulness led her to Boaz, and she became part of the lineage of Christ.
    • Lesson: God’s “expected end” often exceeds your expectations when you stay connected to Him.

1.God’s plans for your life are intact, even when circumstances suggest otherwise.

2.Divine assurance comes from seeking God, not from relying on self or the world.

3.Prayer is not optional—it is the believer’s access to divine alignment.

4.There is an “expected end” for every child of God—one filled with peace, hope, and fulfillment.

5.Wholehearted pursuit of God guarantees divine encounters and divine direction.

    • Set aside quality time daily to seek God in prayer and study.

    • Refuse to let present trials define your future—rest in God’s promises.

    • Encourage others with this truth: “You are not forgotten. You are not forsaken. You are divinely designed for purpose.”

“Father, thank You for thinking thoughts of peace towards us. We trust in Your plan for our lives. This month, we choose to seek You with all our heart. Reveal Your purpose to us, guide our steps, and give us grace to walk in Your perfect will. We receive Your peace and expected end in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Beloved, May is a gift—lets use it wisely. Let’s embrace each day with the confidence that our life is not an accident but a divine orchestration.

Let’s stay in prayer, stay in faith, and stay connected to God’s Word.

Let us live with divine assurance—for God has already gone ahead of us!

    Praise the Lord!
    Shalom!
