DAY 30: MONDAY OCTOBER 30. 2023.

TODAY’S INSPIRATION: REVELATION 20V11-15.

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” (KJV)

INSPIRATION NOTE:

Revelation 20:11-15 describes a profound depiction of the final judgment by God. This passage portrays a momentous event in which the heavens and the earth witness the magnificent throne of God and the One who sits upon it, executing divine justice. The apostle John illustrates the books being opened, signifying the comprehensive review of every individual’s deeds and their ultimate accountability before God.

The imagery in these verses emphasizes the profound significance of this judgment. The sea and Death delivering its dead, along with Hades, underlines the universal scope of this reckoning, bringing forth all who have ever lived. This is a moment that transcends time, encompassing every soul from every era.

In this ultimate judgment, individuals are judged based on their actions, deeds, and ultimately, their relationship with God. The books containing the record of their lives are opened, serving as an irrefutable and unbiased account of each person’s choices and consequences. This divine evaluation ensures that no wrongdoing goes unnoticed or unpunished, providing the perfect justice that God’s nature demands.

Moreover, this passage unveils the equitable nature of the final judgment, where every person encounters their just reward according to their deeds. The book of life is also introduced, representing the salvation and eternal life granted to those whose names appear within it. For those found written in this book, they will relish everlasting fellowship with God, free from the torments of the second death.

Revelation 20:11-15 reaffirms the eternal truth that God is the ultimate judge, thoroughly aware of every human action and motive. This passage urges individuals to consider their choices and their standing before God, as the final judgment holds eternal implications. It reminds us of the critical importance of aligning our lives with God’s righteousness and seeking His mercy and grace through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

PRAYER:

As we await the coming judgment described in Revelation 20v11-15, grant us repentance, faith, and the assurance of salvation through your Son, Jesus Christ.

May we live faithfully in anticipation of that day.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
