SEPTEMBER SCRIPTURE: MICAH 2V12-13.

THEME: “THE PROMISE OF DELIVERANCE”

DAY 21: THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 21. 2023.

TODAY’S INSPIRATION: JOHN 3V14-15.

“¹⁴ ¶ And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

¹⁵ That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (KJV)

INSPIRATION NOTE:

John 3:14-15 contains a pivotal passage highlighting God’s promise of deliverance.

In this passage, Jesus refers to the event in the Old Testament when Moses lifted up the bronze serpent in the wilderness, so that anyone who looked upon it would be healed from their afflictions.

By drawing a parallel, Jesus foreshadows His own crucifixion and provides a profound spiritual truth about salvation and deliverance. Just as the Israelites had to look upon the bronze serpent to be physically healed, humanity now needs to look upon Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross with faith in order to be spiritually healed and delivered from the consequences of sin.

This passage reminds believers of God’s unwavering love and grace, offering a path to eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your unending love and mercy. As we reflect on John 3:14-15, we are reminded of your promise of deliverance through Jesus Christ. Just as the Israelites looked to the bronze serpent for physical healing, we now look to the cross of Christ for spiritual healing and redemption.

Help us to fix our gaze upon Jesus, our Savior and deliverer, knowing that through faith in Him, we can find eternal life. Grant us the strength and faith to continually turn to Him in times of trial and temptation, trusting in His finished work on the cross.

May our hearts be filled with gratitude for the gift of salvation and may it transform our lives.
