THEME: “THE PROMISE OF DELIVERANCE”

DAY 30: SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 30. 2023.

TODAY’S INSPIRATION: REVELATION 22V1-5.

“1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.” (KJV)

INSPIRATION NOTE:

Revelation 22:1-5 marks a significant turning point in the biblical narrative, where God’s promise of deliverance finds its ultimate fulfillment and concludes a series of prophecies throughout the Book of Revelation.

This passage provides a beautiful and awe-inspiring glimpse into the future, revealing the glorious eternal state of God’s redeemed people. In these verses, John, the author of Revelation, vividly describes the visionary experience of seeing a new heaven and a new earth, replacing the old order plagued by sin and suffering.

Symbolically, the absence of sea signifies the absence of chaos and upheaval, emphasizing the perfect peace and harmony in this renewed creation. The presence of the “river of the water of life” flowing from the throne of God illustrates the abundant life and spiritual refreshment believers will experience in the presence of God. This river, representing the Holy Spirit, is the source of life eternal, nurturing and sustaining all those who partake of it.Furthermore, John paints a picture of a tree of life, reminiscent of the Edenic garden (Genesis 2:9), but here it bears its fruit without any curse or restriction. This tree exemplifies the complete restoration of humanity’s access to the blessings and fellowship with God lost through sin. Its leaves are said to be for the healing of the nations, symbolizing the reconciliation, unity, and wholeness that will prevail among all people.

Most significantly, these verses emphasize the eternal reign of God. His spiritual light will illumine the realm, eradicating all darkness and banishing the need for any artificial source of light. The redeemed will have unhindered and everlasting communion with Him, bringing fulfillment and joy beyond measure.Revelation 22:1-5 serves as a powerful conclusion to God’s promise of deliverance given throughout the series of prophecies in Revelation.

It assures believers of their ultimate destiny, revealing the culmination of God’s redemptive plan, and inspiring hope, perseverance, and steadfast faith amidst trials. It reminds us that God’s promises are certain, and His faithfulness endures forever.
