HOPE AND RESTORATION SERIES

DAY 29: TUESDAY AUGUST 29. 2023.

TODAY’S INSPIRATION: 2 CHRONICLES 6V17-21.

17 Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David.

18 But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!

19 Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:

20 That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.

21 Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.” (KJV)

INSPIRATION NOTE:

2 Chronicles 6:17-21 captures King Solomon’s sincere prayer to God during the dedication of the temple in Jerusalem. In his humbleness, Solomon acknowledges that no earthly structure can truly contain the majesty of the Almighty Creator. He prays for God’s presence and favor to be with the Israelites, emphasizing the importance of repentance, forgiveness, and obedience. Solomon’s words remind us of the everlasting covenant between God and His people, urging us to continuously seek His guidance and turn to Him in times of need.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father,

As King Solomon prayed before Your holy altar, we stand before You with humble hearts. We acknowledge that no earthly dwelling can confine Your greatness. We seek Your presence, O Lord, and we pray for Your unfailing love and favor to be upon us and our nation.

Forgive us, Father, for our transgressions and shortcomings. May Your eyes be open to our repentant hearts, and Your ears attentive to our prayers. We ask for Your guidance and wisdom, that we may walk in Your ways and fulfill Your purposes for us.When we stumble, Lord, please extend Your hand of forgiveness and help us rise again.

Teach us to obey Your commandments, and let Your statutes govern our lives. We desire to honor You and be a light in this world, reflecting Your love and grace.

We thank You for the covenant You have established with us, a covenant that remains steadfast and everlasting. May our hearts be steadfast in seeking You and relying on Your unfailing strength.

In Your name, we pray, Amen.
