TODAY’S INSPIRATION: ISAIAH 1V16-20.

“¹⁶ ¶ Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

¹⁷ Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

¹⁸ Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

¹⁹ If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

²⁰ But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” (KJV)

INSPIRATION NOTE:

Isaiah 1:16-20 is a profound passage that carries both a message of judgement and an invitation to redemption. In these verses, the prophet Isaiah calls the people of Israel to come and reason with the Lord, to engage in a dialogue about their sins and their need for forgiveness.

The imagery used by Isaiah is powerful, as he portrays the scarlet sins of the people turning as white as snow, and the crimson stains becoming as wool. This imagery symbolizes the complete cleansing and forgiveness that God is willing to offer his people if they are willing to turn away from their wicked ways.

Furthermore, the passage emphasizes the importance of obedience to God’s commandments. Isaiah warns that if the Israelites are willing and obedient, they will enjoy the prosperity and blessings promised by God. However, disobedience will result in destruction and calamity.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father,
Cleanse me from sin,
Teach me to do good,
Help me seek justice,
Relieve me from oppression,
Guide me on the path of righteousness,
Reveal Your truth and wisdom,
Grant me the willingness to obey,
Give me a heart of repentance,
May I enjoy the blessings of obedience,
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
